Galena, Quartz, Pyrite - Dongxiang Polymetallic Deposit, China
This mine, the Huxingshan, was once famous for a particular variety of Sphalerite called Marmatite. It has a wonderfully unusual metallic yellow fluorescence. Unfortunately, this mine has become something of an afterthought and is currently in and out of working. This specimen shows a wonderful assemblage of Galena crystals (PbS), Quartz crystals (SiO2), and Pyrite crystals (FeS2), and is from one of the more recent workings at the mine. A well-sized and hefty specimen for your display cabinet. Specimen comes labeled and ready for display.
